As you work more and more with people and for people you will receive feedback. Hopefully much of it will be useful and encouraging, but sometimes it may be advice that is too much, too little, or too late. The comments may be unclear, unhelpful, frustrating, or sometimes even mean-spirited.

When you have put a lot of creative energy and personal effort into something, it can be difficult to have someone pick it apart. For instance, here are a few examples of client feedback that a graphic design site put together. One thing that has helped me is remembering that it is much easier to critique than to create. Where was the client when the page was blank? Whenever you have produced something significant from scratch, you can be proud of that. Although other people may have a different concept or constructive tips it shouldn’t devalue what got you to a particular milestone in a project. So embrace the good feedback and allow it to strengthen your foundation of experience. Let the bad feedback go and don’t allow it to tear down your progress or esteem. Just keep creating.
