When heaven’s voice called softly through the night.
A plan divine before his birth was kept,
As Samuel rose to walk by faith, not sight.

His life a psalm, a sweet unfolding song,
God’s purpose in him had only just begun.

Left to ourselves we are dangerously drawn to a cycle of distraction, deception, disobedience, and destruction. Our only deliverance is to turn to God in devotion and dedication. For those who trust him, God lovingly develops them to become all the best that he designed them to be.

Devil prowls to make a score,
Devouring souls he’s hunting for,
Despising God and all we are,
Designing traps both near and far.

Distraction pulls our gaze away
From divine light to darker ways,
Drawn by desires that don’t fulfill,
Dragged to places against God’s will.

Deception whispers to our hearts,
“Deserve this pleasure, take your part.”
Delusions grow like shadow weeds,
Defending all our selfish deeds.

Disobedience follows fast,
Defiance meant to always last,
Descending down a slippery slope,
Destroying every trace of hope.

Destruction waits at journey’s end,
Death’s door where broken souls descend,
Darkness closing like the night,
Dooming those who flee the light.
