You are God’s beloved creation. He is calling you to trust and obey him in order to be saved and to help save others all for his glory.

Snowed In

Extended family members who were at odds nearing the end of a holiday rendezvous, eventually make the best of unfortunate circumstances when they get snowed in.

Aunt Martha glares at Uncle Pete,
While cousins bicker, tempers heat.
“Tomorrow morning, I’ll be gone,”
Each mutters as the night drags on.

(Verse 2)
But winter had a different plan—
The snow fell thick across the land.
Morning broke with drifts piled high,
No one could leave, though some would try.

(Chorus)
We’re snowed in together, like it or not,
The cold outside, the tension hot.
But maybe there’s a chance to see
That love can melt hostility.

(Verse 3)
The power went out, complaints arose,
As darkness added to their woes.
They built a fire, fought stubbornly,
Then shared blankets, reluctantly.

(Verse 4)
Hot cocoa made with thoughtful care—
“Too hot!” “Too cold!”, murmurs aired.
No marshmallows could be found,
Just grumbles echoing around.

Little Emma pressed her nose against the glass,
“Look how the snowflakes dance as they pass!”
While others saw a prison made of white,
She found magic in the winter’s bite.

Then Uncle Joe began his tale,
Of blizzards past and winter’s gale.
Each relative jumped in to say,
“That’s not how it happened that day!”

Young Tommy fetched the Twister mat,
The adults groaned, “We’re too old for that!”
But soon they twisted, laughed, and played,
As days of anger slowly did fade.

We’re snowed in together, but look at us now,
We’re bending, stretching and remembering how
It feels to be family, to laugh and to care—
The warmth that we’re building is melting the air.

The power returned, the snow had ceased,
They walked to dinner, hearts at peace.

The greatest blessing and power we can experience is love. We are created by God and loved more dearly than we can imagine. Receive his love and let it flow to others. (Inspired by 1 John 4:16-19).

From the dawn of time we were designed
To be wrapped in love so pure and kind.
In God’s embrace we find our place
Where joy and life abundant shine.

Yet we turn away, choose our own path
Chasing dreams that never truly last.
Freedom hollow, joy so shallow
Building castles made of sand and ash.

Then came Jesus, mercy in the flesh
God who stooped to lift us from our mess.
By his wounds our hearts are made new
His sacrifice our second breath.

In a world of deception, pursue truth and stand for what’s right. If you don’t, you and those who look up to you will fall for anything, which ends in destruction.

Deception’s siren song calls from all sides,
Enticing hearts to trade truth for empty lies.
Yet only light that shines from Heaven’s gates
Can free the soul from falsehood’s fatal weight.

Beliefs shape actions, character’s design,
Determining the path your life will climb.
Choose with care, for truth alone can guide
To heights where dreams and destiny reside.

Puppet Throne

If you reject God as king to exalt yourself, you will end up enslaved. But if you trust and obey God, you can be saved, fulfilled, and free.

You scroll through feeds for validation
Building shrines of reputation.
Every selfie needs more likes

Climbing ladders made of pride
Corner office, dead inside.
Working weekends, missing life
Serving money’s appetite.
You thought success would set you free
Now anxiety’s all you breathe.
The master that you chose to serve
Has stolen your life and left you hurt.

Wounded Hands

God’s love for you is seen in Jesus’ birth, life, death, resurrection, ascension, and coming return. In grateful reverence, receive his love which cost him everything.

From heaven’s throne to a livestock stall,
The Word made flesh came down to dwell with us,
To walk among the broken and the small,
That we might live as children of his trust.

He lived the perfect life we could not lead,
Revealing God’s own heart in human frame,

While we were enemies, he bore our shame.

Out of love, God sent Jesus as the preeminent son who makes it possible for all who receive him by faith to become children of God.

In Daniel’s vision, we see Jesus clear,

Those who trust, he gathers to rule with him.

He chose us to be holy, without blame.
