Welcome to this blog. In today’s superficial and often deceptive world we all need positive, encouraging truth to guide us, train us, and assure us. I find that truth in God and I try to pass it on. As a father and high school teacher I have had the opportunity to listen to, empathize with, advise, and challenge my children and my students. The following notes capture some of those interactions. Hopefully they benefit you also.

In writing I have tried to be genuine, humble, and open to listening and learning from God. I also try to put the advice into practice by God’s grace and power. As a reader I hope you approach these notes the same way. I pray they bless you and inspire you to become all God has designed for you to be and to do for his glory. He believes in you and wants the best for you. So do I. The most valuable gift I can give is to build you and others up and to help you draw near to God through Jesus. In time I hope God becomes your closest friend, your brightest future, and your deepest love.

Your friend and teacher,
Greenelsh

127 Promote Peace

During national unrest, uncertainty, and stressful times it is alluring to focus on the negative, complain, look for scapegoats, and escalate disagreement. Don't wallow in that toxic swamp. It's unhealthy and unproductive. Instead give thanks for what's good, unite...

126 Exercise Creativity

“To think creatively, we must be able to look afresh at what we normally take for granted.” —George Kneller. Everyone has the ability to imagine and create. God, the Creator of all, built that in to you when he made humankind in his likeness (Genesis 1;26-28). It is...

I am blessed to live in the United States of America. However, along with the many great things about our country it also has many problems. If we don't turn to God for solutions I believe they will continue to worsen. Some of our problems stem from our independence....

122 Cling Under Pressure

I didn't sleep well so I am writing this in the middle of the night. Oppressive late summer heat has turned our home into an oven. That mixed with unhealthy air quality from the smoke of continued wildfires has strapped the last few days with a subliminal sense of...
