I didn’t get a chance to finish one more thought related to my text yesterday about letting God drive. One of the wonderful aspects of trusting God in faith is that he is able to take care of us no matter what. (In fact yesterday he spared us from being too close to an accident while driving to San Diego. A small private plane crashed and burned on highway 405 near Los Angeles. Fortunately no one on the plane or the highway got seriously hurt. This was a sobering reminder that life is fragile and each day is a gift from God to be lived for him and others.).
God is powerful enough and loving enough to help us through any difficulty if we trust him in faith. Sometimes the difficulty comes from our own sinful action, sometimes it comes from other people’s actions of which we are innocent victims, sometimes it comes from living in this fallen world, and sometimes it comes from Satan seeking to destroy us.
Yet it is truly incredible that God can handle each of these situations. He is greater than we realize. In Romans 8:28 it says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” What an awesome promise.
It doesn’t mean he removes the consequences of our actions or that he even removes the difficulty. What he does is instead of delivering us out of a situation, he delivers us through it. As we draw near to him he draws near to us. We can bring him our sin, our failures, our oppression, our trials, our needs, and our fears and he redeems them. He brings light out of darkness, peace out of strife, order out of chaos, good out of evil, and life out of death.
As he delivers us he trains, disciplines, refines, and matures us so we can experience abundant life now and forever and help others do the same. Wow! God is good all the time and that becomes a reality for us as we come to him in faith.
I hope this insight helps you learn and grow in what truly matters.
