The Kingdom of Jesus

Have you ever tried to build something new for the first time from scratch, or cook an unfamiliar dish without a recipe, or journey to a foreign destination without packing provisions or a map. How did it go? Usually it turns out better with a plan, a design, instructions, guidance, experience, or expert advice. The Bible says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). Without a plan people typically fail. Without a mission people languish. Without a purpose people lack hope. Without truth people die.

God has a glorious plan. As eternal creator of the universe, he is king. He invites us to live in his kingdom. He made us to be with him, to be like him, and to do what he does.

However, tragically people vainly chart their own course in life. It doesn’t end well. The Bible says, “There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12). We all operate from a self-centered view. We are blind to God’s reality beyond ourselves. Left to ourselves we are like sheep without a shepherd each going astray. But good news, a loving shepherd has come for us in Jesus, the Son of God. He is the King of kings who came 2,000 years ago as a man to enable anyone who trusts him to enter and live in his kingdom. He returned to heaven, but will come back soon to restore his fallen earthly creation, reward believers, judge wickedness, and consummate his kingdom.

This book introduces you to Jesus and his kingdom. Discover his divine plan and the royal heir he is calling you to become as his son or daughter.
